Blog Site Relocation and New Portal with Blog
After attempting many different ways to workaround Drupal installation problems on Yahoo SBWH, I had no choice but to relocate to another hosting service. It is quite some effort to move an established blog site to another host, and add to that the time it takes to get your domain moved.
Besides the Drupal problem, the Yahoo service has other limitations: Users cannot configure .htaccess files, and you cannot host multiple domains on a single hosting plans, to name a few.
I have been wanting to supplement this blog with a content management system such as Drupal to build some knowledge base. Weighing all the time and effort involved in moving my blog to another hosting service, against the potential benefits, I decided to take the plunge.
So finally, I have the blog rehosted and so far, things are looking fine.
My thoughts at the moment are to use my original Technic Alley Blog for most of my blogging, and this portal to create more organized content such as books, articles, etc, that are much easier to develop with Drupal than WordPress.
